Tanja Pak
Tanja Pak holds a master's degree in art from the Royal College of Art in London. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (ALUO), where she obtained a degree in industrial design. She is a full professor at the Academy of Arts and Design, University in Ljubljana. Since 1998, she has been running her own studio and creating numerous design works and art projects. Her work has been published in international publications and is part of public and private collections. She has been selected for important residencies at the Corning Museum of Glass, Creative Glass Center of America, Pilchuck in the USA, and the Musée du Verre in France. Furthermore, visits to foreign universities and schools (RCA, UW, Pratt Institute, RIT, Alfred, etc.) have provided invaluable experience working in different studios. She has received numerous international awards for her work, including the recent triennial Toyama International Glass Prize 2024, two Red Dot Honourable Mentions, Designer of the Year and the Arte Laguna Prize. Her work has been listed four times in the New Glass Review's 100 most influential works in glass and has been a finalist in numerous competitions and curated exhibitions, among them Kanazawa International, European Glass Context, Venice Glass Week and Toyama International Glass Prize.
