When designing and executing the backrest layers, it was crucial that they return to their original shape after use, without retaining any impressions from objects. The designers achieved this by using a combination of advanced materials. The inspiration for the piece came from the interplay between the ancient and the modern, drawing specifically from the stepped architecture of Roman amphitheaters.
