Vases from wild and recycled clays, made by using a handheld extruder.
The vases reflect the author’s fascination with local wild clays, which he collects from construction sites and a forest not far from Ljubljana, or buys from local potters. Working with an affordable material, the author developed a manufacturing method that relies on his physical capacity and skills. He engineered a handheld extruder, a simple yet sophisticated system with dies that allow him to create unique shapes and textures to bring out the character of wild clay. An important part of his practice is to promote maker culture through workshops where the participants learn how to make vases using an extruder while learning about the intricacies of design.
