PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The vine is the only plant mentioned in the Slovenian national anthem, Zdravljica by France Prešeren. Slovenia is a wine-growing country, and we produce world-class wines. The silver brooch combines the black and white halves of the leaf. White and red wine, light and dark, day and night... the two halves of each cycle.
Any combustible material can be cast in precious metal, transforming the ephemeral into the eternal. The natural plant form is so perfect that the artist tries to make only minimal changes. Using modern materials that reproduce textures with great precision and processes that are thousands of years old, she preserves forms that are identical to the natural ones, with the only difference being the material. A clasp system is attached to the back, allowing the silver cast to be worn as a brooch.
