PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The product is made using a non-standard process of gluing end grain wood. This elevates the ordinary cutting board into an extremely high-quality product with a long service life. The special process also results in a characteristic symmetrical image reminiscent of lace, which adds a distinctive look to the board. The product is suitable for everyday use and will last a long time but can also be used as a serving tray or a trivet on special occasions.

Deska draws on Slovenia's rich history of carpentry and uses the country's most valuable natural resource - its forests and the wood they produce. The manufacturing process is technologically advanced, combining design and traditional hand and machine craftsmanship, while the shape of the product is derived from the knowledge of carpentry techniques. The board is ecological and sustainable, made from local natural materials in accordance with the criteria for high quality solid wood furniture. It is packaged in a cardboard gift box, suitable for sending by post and with a neat visual image.

Klara Zalokar and Klemen Zupančič have been working under the name Zalokar & Zupančič since 2024. After graduating in architecture, they opened Studio Moste (2011-2024), focusing on the design and production of furniture and other objects made of solid wood.
