The centuries-old craft of woodcarving has its roots in Ribnica, the birthplace of Leis. The brand name was derived from the local word for wood, which originated in Dolenjska and is pronounced "leis." It was time to bring the centuries-old tradition of woodenware products into the modern era, and so these great kitchen utensils were born. However, to differentiate them from traditional designs, they were crafted with an appealing, user-friendly, and sophisticated design aesthetic. The curved shape of the set prevents food from accumulating on the countertop and makes it easy to use. The set comes together with an integrated magnet, which also allows the kitchen utensils to be attached to any metal surface.
The Leis brand is entirely designed, developed and manufactured locally, representing a sustainable business model based on fair trade. The brand is the result of a partnership between Rimarket, which oversees the product development, manufacturing and sales, and Gigodesign, which handles the product design.
Leis was designed by Gigodesign. It is GIGODESIGNED, which stands for products of lasting value. We integrate design in the conceptual phase of development, work in a highly coordinated way with the client, achieve clearly defined, high-level project objectives and deliver good technical execution. This is how we create highly differentiated products, a better user experience, transitions to a higher price range, or niche markets and new product categories.
