Yelka

The Ljubljana-based team of three designers had a clear goal: to create a Christmas tree that would last. All components have been designed to withstand years of assembly and disassembly. It is extremely stable and free of falling needles, making it a suitable choice for families with small children and pets. Yelka's storage box is well designed and takes up very little space. Yelka is entirely made in Slovenia - most of it was made in a workshop in Ljubljana, but only the stand was made in collaboration with local craftsmen. In line with ecological and sustainable principles, renewable materials are used and the amount of waste generated as a by-product is optimised and reduced. Wood (maple, oak or walnut) is the predominant material. The stands are powder coated and linseed oil is used to protect the wood. No plastic is used in the production process. The wood, packaging and metal are all made in Slovenia. The Yelka was also offered on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The campaign was successfully completed in 2018, and Yelka is now produced every year before the holiday season.
